Faces

Jill draws rapid portraits with a time restraint of less than five minutes, drawing one pose to one track of music. .The reason is to encourage a vital gestural line quality, to not be distracted by detail but to focus on the person sitting. Not looking for a likeness necessarily, but for the character of the sitter, reflected in the pose.

Jill challenges  her experiences of drawing faces by altering the medium and surface on which she draws.

The drawings are mostly A3 in size and all are for sale.
